Australian Trip

Hi everybody ! I just got back from the great country of Australia, so I will tell you how it was and what I did.

I flew to Australia for twelve days. I landed in Tasmania in Hobart, where I stayed for four days. Tasmania is a region of Australia, a group of islands. There, I was on the biggest island. For my discovery of Tasmania, I chose to visit landscapes like for example Great Oyster Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula. The view was breathtaking !

After that, I admired the Saint Columba falls, a small and refreshing place.

Then, I walked around the Cataract Gorge.
This offered us an awesome view of the landscape!

To finish this little trip in Tasmania well, I decided to go boating on Dove lake and then do some  hiking on Cradle Mountain with a sightseeing on the top.

The fifth day I took the boat to Australia. I wanted to return to the city so I drove a little to get to Melbourne. I only stayed on the East Coast. I resided there in a nice hotel for two days. The first day, I began by visiting the National Gallery of Victoria. It's an art museum. I recommend this museum to all art lovers, there are some really wonderful works ! The same day I went to the Eureka tower.

The picture speaks for itself  :)

The second day, I saw the station of Flinders street. This is an old, very architectural building. And finally, I made a trip to the Docklands. I stayed there all evening to see the neighborhood lighted by night.

Look how beautiful it is !

After this, I drove to the capital, Canberra, where I stayed for two days too. There, I stopped by the new Parliament and the High Court the morning of the first day, and I visited the National Museum of Australia in the afternoon. So I learned a lot about the history of this amazing country. I spent my second day on the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra. This is one of the biggest festivals in the world and I love festivals so I needed to participate. It was so great !

And to finish off, how could I not to go through Sydney?! There I decided to stay for four days. I began by visiting the Royal Botanic Garden and the famous Sydney Opera House.

In the evening I took to walk around Darling Harbour.

The next day, I spent my day trying to surf and sunbathing at Bondi Beach. The third day I visited The Rocks where I saw many of Queen Victoria's buildings. The Rocks is a tourist precinct and an historic area of Sydney's city center.

The entrance to the neighborhood.

For the last day I went back to my childhood by visiting the Toy museum. And in the afternoon I went shopping, of course! I stay true to myself !

And so this beautiful journey ends with a head filled with lots of wonderful memories (and an almost empty wallet ^^ ).

My trip !

Hi everyone !
I'm Djianni, and I will tell to you in my blog about my 3 week trip to Australia.

1stweek :
1st/2nd Day :
Darwin

I arrived in Darwin during the night. What can I say ? This is an awesome city ! I was thinking this area was a bit primitive, but no ! People seem different but really friendly.

Arnhem Land

After this, I visited the Arnhem Land : it's a bit arid (that's what I thinked at 1st) but clearly nice, I can't forget this experience.

Day 3/4 :
Cairns

I took the airplane to come to Cairns. After this, I really wanted to see the Great Barrier Reef ! So, I stayed a bit to refresh myself in this little city. The next day, I realized one of my dreams : I swam in the Great Barrier Reef, and that was really really incredible. I can remember every move I made with fishes and nature in this blue-water land.

Day 5/6/7 :
Sydney
To be high (??), I did a good night in the plane, direction: Sydney. Arrived to this city, I was ready to spend a lot of my money, because to my problem of buy a lot of useless things. For 3 days, I was on a trip from Sydney to Melbourne, passing in Canberra : that was a real nice experience for me, but not for my bank account...
To conclude, I did some Surf, visited a lot of museums, constantly moved and bought a lot of souvenirs !

Canberra

Second Week :
Near the 1st and the 3rd day, I came in Tasmania : wow, what a special island ! During this period, I did a tour of the cities : I saw Burrie, Launceston and Hobart. Didn't have time to visit Devonport, I'm a bit disappointed about that, but cannot do anything about it anymore..
Tasmania

After this, I stayed for 4 days near Adelaide, to have a little break on my trip.
Adelaide

Third Week :
I took a boat during 2 days to come to Perth. When I was here, I was really tired from this long boattrip.
Arrived to Perth, I stayed there during 5 days : I rested a lot, and did some shopping again; I'll was truly sad for my bank account :(
Perth
This last day was very interesting, but I didn't really do anything.

To conclude, these last 3 weeks were very important for me, because I learned a lot of things about Australia's origins et culture, like Arborigines or food (not very different) and loved this trip. See you later for an another trip !!

A Journey to the End of the World

A Journey to the End of the World

Monday 15th , 10AM France time, I started my trip from Paris where I took the plane to Sydney, I flew over the Simpson's desert, 21 hours of plane, I saw many little ranches and wild animals. I arrived in Sydney at 7AM local time. I was very tired because of jet lag, there is a 10 hour lag between France and Australia. My first days were very difficult, It was very difficult to find my hotel and this day it was very hot, so I didn't see many things.

First week I visited Sydney, a very big and beautiful city. I saw the opera and many monuments which were incredible. We can imagine Sydney is the capital of Australia. Sydney has a magnificent bay! Surrounded by great and famous monuments, Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. There are many kilometres of beaches and a large expanse of the Pacific Ocean. I saw a beautiful amazing aquarium, a zoo and stunning botanical gardens (Royal Botanic Gardens).

The second week I travelled to Newcastle, and it was wonderful. I visited Newcastle's downtown. It’s a city which has a special environment, buildings are original. There is a beach, it’s a beautiful city, with less modern architecture than Sidney. It changes these big cities. It was a quiet and relaxing week before returning to a very large city: Canberra!

The third week, I began a long trip until Canberra, so I could get some rest. Canberra…  Australia’s capital, there are many trees and greenery. It’s a beautiful town, I visited many monuments and I went in a labyrinth. I saw the parliament’s house. During this week I ate many typical meals and it was very good ! I walked every day to visit things. So at the end of the week I was very tired.

Monday 5th February,
Back in France, the journey is over .... It was really beautiful and interesting, very fun and instructive to discover this country which is at the end of the world. During the trip I saw a group of Kangaroos, fortunately !

                                                                                                                                  MARIDET Alex

Hi Australia!

Hi Australia !

For my last holidays, i went to Australia, specially to 3 different places :
-to the Gold Coast in Brisbane,
-to the Great Barrier Reef
-to Melbourne for the tennis tournament
It was an amazing trip, the flight was good with Air Australia from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport to Brisbane airport. The flight was very long but there were many movies on the plane so it was not boring.

I stayed 6 days in Brisbane, and the weather was good so I went surfing on the Gold Coast which is one of the best places in the world to surf.

The beaches are beautiful and the waves are the biggest in the whole world even if you have to take care with the sharks. However, Australian Government allowed people to fish and kill sharks yesterday, the 18th of February 2014.

I love scuba diving so I had to go to the great barrier reef. This is one of the best place in the world because the marine fauna is very diversified. It is also the largest barrier reef in the world and I stayed there for 6 days.

.

I think this step of my trip was my best experience because I had never seen  so beautiful submarine landscapes. They were extremely colourful and the biodiversity was pretty awesome.

On top of that I had the opportunity to swim with sharks and it is not something that everyone can do. I had many chills.

Finally I went to Melbourne and I watched the quarter finals, semi finals and the final so I was there for the second week of the tournament.

I was sad that no French players were playing this week but I am glad that Roger Federer came back and won his 18th grand slam.

To conclude I can say that my trip to Australia was amazing or awesome or anything like this but it is not enough to describe what I really felt during this trip.

I went in Canberra, Sydney, Bells Beach and after this I went on a safari !

The 1st of July I took the plane in the airport of Paris !

After this I took the bus to go to Sydney, where I stayed for four days. I discovered many beautiful things.
First of all I visited the opera,  which is the most  important and the most famous symbol in Australia. It was built between 1963 and 1973.The opera is on a little peninsula.
I liked very much this monument !!!

After this I went on the bridge of Sydney .It is the longest of Australia (more than 1 kilometer, including over 500 m) and the highest  (134 m above the water to the top)  and it is still the widest bridge (50 m) of Australia. It was built between 1923 and 1932, and remains the symbol of technological success in Australia.

After this week in Sydney and Canberra, I decided  to go surfing to the west of Melbourne on Bellarina Peninsula. And I visited the legendary beach of Bells Beach !!!
