My trip

My trip
Hello everyone, it's Gregoire. Did you know that in December 2006 I went to Australia for 3 weeks ? I traveled with my familly to the East Coast. We took the plane in Paris, with Air France.
We arrived at Canberra airport. Canberra is not the biggest city of Australia but it is the capital. We arrived at 10am local time. The first impression I had was that it was very hot outside. I made you a little description of Canberra :

Canberra
Canberra is the capital of Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. The city is located at the northern end of the Capital Territory, 280 kilometers southwest of Sydney and 680 km north-east of Melbourne. The site was chosen as Canberra Australian Capital in 1908, this choice was a compromise between the two rival cities of Sydney and Melbourne, the two largest cities in Australia. The word "Canberra" means "gathering place" in ngunawal, the local Aboriginal language.

Canberra is a very nice place, it's a mixture between lac, natur and new construction style. We visited the parliament and the old parliament, the Australian political siege. The St Jean chirch is the oldest building of Canberra.

Melbourne
Melbourne is the second largest metropolitan area in Australia after Sydney. It had 4,250,000 inhabitants in 2012. Near the Port Phillip Bay, south-east of Australia, Melbourne is the capital of the State of Victoria. In English, its inhabitants are called Melburnians.
Melbourne is an important commercial, industrial and cultural center. The city is often referred to as capital "sport and culture" of Australia because it is home to many cultural and sporting events and institutions among the largest in the country.

Hobart
Hobart is the capital and the most populous city in the state of Tasmania, Australia city. In 2010, it had 202,000 inhabitants. Founded in 1804 as a penal colony, it is the second oldest state capital in Australia after Sydney and is twinned since July 2008 with the French city of Brest.
